Fairmount Center for the Arts Presents THE MUSIC MAN 2/23-3/4

Fairmount-Center-for-the-Arts-Presents-THE-MUSIC-MAN-20010101

Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory (FPAC), the theatre arm of Fairmount Center for the Arts, is pleased to present MerEdith Wilson’s award winning musical, The Music Man, at the Mayfield Civic Center February 23-26 and March 1-4.

About the show: Winner of a Tony Award for Best Musical, The Music Man is an affectionate salute to Small-town, U.S.A. of a bygone era. The play follows the fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa. The musical is filled with memorable music—"Trouble," "Good Night My Someone" and "76 Trombones" —entertaining dance numbers, and a story that touches everyone’s heart.

The musical features a cast of 44 actors, with Gabriel Brown playing the role of Professor Harold Hill, Leah Saltzer as town librarian Marian Paroo; Dan Hoy as Harold’s old friend, Marcellus Washburn; Eric Fanchor as Mayor Shinn— the pompous local politician who is suspicious of Hill; Jessica Hirsh as the mayor’s wife, Eulalie; EmiLy Wirthwein as Marian's Irish mother, Mrs. Paroo and Adam Gurary as Marian's shy, lisping brother, Winthrop Paroo.

Director and choreographer for the show is FPAC’s Assistant Director, Bebe Weinberg Katz. Additionally, Jon Krol is the music director and Sean Szaller is the producer.

Ticket prices are $15.00 for adults, $13.00 for seniors and $11.00 for students. Group rates are available for 10 or more tickets purchased to one performance. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances start at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday matinee starts at 2:00.

Mayfield Village Civic Center is located at 6622 Wilson Mills Road, at the corner of Wilson Mills and Route 91. Purchase tickets at www.fairmountcenter.tix.com or by calling Fairmount Center at 440-338-3171.

Fairmount Center for the Arts is located at 8400 Fairmount Road in Novelty, Ohio. For more than four decades, the organization has provided thousands of Geauga and Cuyahoga County residents the opportunity to explore the arts by offering classes, workshops, community performances and opportunities for individual expression. Fairmount houses five major art programs: Theatre, Dance, Music, Art and Fitness. Fairmount Center for the Arts receives generous support from The Ohio Arts Council and The Lake Geauga Fund.
