The incomparable, Tony Award-winning composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim is up close and personal in this landmark theatrical event, SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM. Ohio native James Lapine has created an evening that fuses exclusive interview footage about a life and artistic process that has touched the world. This live musical journey includes dozens of tunes from Sondheim's amazing 50-year Broadway legacy. This unforgettable experience takes you inside the mind of Broadway's greatest living composer.

The Tony and Emmy Award-winning singer/actress has enjoyed an extraordinarily diverse career. Chenoweth is expected to perform songs from her latest album, "Some Lessons Learned," as well as a catalog of her most memorable songs from theatre and television, including WICKED and GLEE.

Tickets range from $35 to $125. Purchase tickets online at www.playhousesquare.org or by calling the box office at 216.241.6000. The Palace theatre is located at 1615 Euclid Avenue, in the heart of Cleveland's theatre district.

LEGALLY BLONDE
LEGALLY BLONDE takes to the Mackey Main Stage of the Beck Center for the Arts for 18 performances between July 6th and August 12th. Friday and Saturday night shows are at 8pm, with Sunday shows at 3pm.

Don't underestimate Elle Woods, a college sweetheart, homecoming queen and not-so-dumb blonde who doesn't take "no" for an answer. When her boyfriend dumps her for someone "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before – Harvard Law School. In the end, Elle learns that being true to yourself never goes out of style. The verdict? This much fun shouldn't be legal!

Tickets range from $10 to $28. Purchase tickets online at www.beckcenter.org or by calling the box office at 216.521.2540, ext. 10. The Beck Center is located at 17801 Detroit Ave. in Lakewood, ten minutes west of downtown Cleveland.

ONE NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin
Cleveland Play House will kick off the tour of ONE NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin this summer. Starring Cat Stephani, the production runs July 27th to August 19th at the Allen Theatre. Performance times vary.

With a voice like whiskey and a laugh like pure joy, Janis Joplin took the music scene by storm. Simultaneously rough and vulnerable, Joplin was dubbed the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll, proving music wasn't just a man's world anymore. Packed with classic songs, the show also shines the spotlight on trailblazers who influenced Janis – like Bessie Smith, Etta James and Aretha Franklin.

Vicky CroisantVicky is living her dream working as a zookeeper, spending her days with penguins, lions, tigers and bears (oh my!). Theatre has always been an interest of hers, but ever since moving to Ohio in 2003 it's become a true passion. Downtown Cleveland – the largest theatre district outside of Manhattan – is a frequent stomping ground. She sees as many touring, local, regional and orchestral productions as she can and is always looking to broaden her theatrical horizons. When not outside at the zoo or inside a theatre, Vicky enjoys photography, bird watching and knitting.
